We are very proud to announce Nathan Robertson will be joining the Super Schools team.
Nathan is one of the most successful badminton players of all time within the UK. Nathan begun playing badminton at the age of 6 encouraged by his parents and inspired by his older brother who was a junior international himself. Nathan gained his full senior cap for England at the age of 18 playing against China. Since gaining his 1st cap in 1995 Nathan has not looked back gaining his first major medal at the 1999 World Championships partnering Simon Archer in the men`s doubles event where they reached the semi finals securing a bronze medal.
The bronze medal success proved to be the beginning of Nathans successes paving the way to greater achievements in the years to follow. Nathan established himself as Europeans finest in 2004 by winning European Gold with his mixed doubles partner Gail Emms and gaining a silver medal in the men`s doubles event with partner Anthony Clarke. Later that year Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms went on to make history as the first ever British Olympic badminton players to reach an Olympic final narrowly losing out and coming away with the silver medal.
After the highs of the silver medal in Athens it was difficult to see how Nathan and mixed doubles partner Gail Emms could top this amazing achievement , In 2006 at the World Championships in Madrid Nathan and Gail did exactly this by going one step further than Athens in winning the gold medal and becoming World Champions beating English team mates Anthony Clarke and Donna Kellogg in the final.
Among Nathans Olympic ,World, European medals he has also won 7 Commonwealth games medals truly establishing himself as one Britain`s leading sporting heroes.
