How Super Schools Works

Super Schools will visit your schools for half a day with a sporting celebrity. All pupils will be photographed individually with the sporting celebrity, the pupils will have a autograph opportunity followed by, taking part in a series of fun exercises in which they will obtain sponsorship from their friends and familly. Each event will conclude in a 30 minute chat hosted by the days featured athlete in which the athlete will be addressing his/her experiences through sport and the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. The pupils will also have the opportunity to take part in some questions and answers.

Preliminary Talk

One week before the Super Schools event day, we will arrange at a mutually convenient time to visit your school. This visit will give an introductory talk to the children and staff at a specially timed assembly, in order to inform and motivate pupils so that maximum participation is achieved. We will show a short Super Schools dvd to the pupils at the end of the 10-15 minute talk. On conclusion of the assembly Super Schools will provide teachers(head of year) with sponsorship forms along with an envelpoe in which we ask to be distributed to the pupils by form classes.

The Event Day

The event day will consist of 2 Super Schools staff attending(coordinator and photographer) plus the featuring Super Schools athlete. The event will begin with the pupils having their photograph taken with the athlete, they then will be given the opportunity to take part in 5 simple exercises coordinated by the Super Schools coordinator. The event day will conclude with the athlete addressing the pupils in an assembly format in which they will be chatting about his/her experiences through their sporting career. Pupils will also be asked to take part in some questions and answers. The event day will take no longer than half a day. We can photograph 250 pupils in an hour.

Super Schools do everything possible to ensure the event runs smoothly without involving teachers unnecessarily. We may ask for some help from more of the senior pupils in helping demonstrate some of the exercises and directing the pupils aiding the running of the event.
