Net fundraising proceeds from Super Schools Wales are apportioned 60% school, 40% Super Schools Wales. The various expenses, which we incur in promoting each event: travel, hotel, printing, and photographic costs, are substantial. We aim to cover these outgoings through the expenses levy of £1 per participating pupil deducted from gross fundraising returns.
Over two decades we have found this to be a fair and mutually acceptable formula for rewarding schools and funding the Super Schools Award scheme. Thus a school typically raising, as in the case of Walter Infants, £2,737 from 209 children, would benefit as follows:
|
Gross sponsorship fundraising proceed |
£2,737 |

£1 per participant expenses levy |
£209.00 |

Net proceeds |
£2,528 |
|
School's 60% share |

Super Schools 40% share |
£1,011.20+ |
